Fun Facts

Golf in the Renaissance
Since our state is a big GOLF playing state filled with lush courses, how many of you knew that King James II of Scotland outlawed golf in 1457 because he believed it distracted his archers from training?

When exploring our village you will hear, “HUZZAH!”
sometimes written hazzah; originally huzza, and in most modern varieties of English hurrah or hooray) is, according to the Oxford English Dictionary (OED), "apparently a mere exclamation".
